- TMM-2025 participants discussed trends and challenges of the domestic media market

On May 29, Moscow hosted the IX annual Telemultimedia Forum 2025. Leaders of the digital media sphere". This time, the Severnaya Tower Business Center, located in the Moscow City MIBC cluster, became the venue for a large-scale industry event.
The main topic of the Forum's plenary discussion was trends in the formation of a unified digital space and the use of innovative solutions in the media industry. A special role in the discussion was given to the prospects of linear TV and the evolution of cross-platform. Broadcasting manages to maintain its role in the life of society and the media industry, despite the development of IPTV and OTT. This is confirmed by the active development of TV channels, the emergence of new projects, as well as the synergy of TV and online cinemas.
The plenary discussion was moderated by Denis Kuskov, CEO of IA TelecomDaily, and Evgenia Stogova, RBC correspondent.
According to Oleg Struchkovsky, Tricolor's commercial director, recent industry research shows that audience habits are actively changing. The shift is planned not only in the plane of genre, but also in the plane of age.
"If you look at the research that we conduct regularly, then in addition to the genre shift, there is a "rejuvenation" of the audience. It is generally believed that older people prefer television, but now we see that the average age of the watching audience is decreasing. More recently, bloggers have been on the Internet, and now they have become TV presenters. There are channels that consist entirely of copyrighted content and it is perceived normally, our customers like it," Oleg Struchkovsky said.
Discussing the future of linear TV, which was transformed by the plenary discussion "Strategy for creating a unified digital space, taking into account new meanings and audience habits as a challenge for the media business," Tricolor noted that linear TV provides a moderate variety of content.
"Linear television is a recommendation genre system. When I select content on OTT or the Internet, I need to find, select and enable it. Linear TV allows you to exclude at least one step in this chain, because it always shows. Besides, no one canceled watching TV in the background. That is why we at Tricolor positively assess this market," Oleg Struchkovsky noted.
Three sessions of the Telemultimedia Forum were devoted to other relevant industry topics. The event participants discussed the "window of opportunity" for technological development that opens up in the Russian market with the departure of foreign companies, the role of television broadcasts on streaming platforms, the possibilities of video generation for the media industry, innovations in recommendation AI services and other relevant topics.
The participants of the IX annual Telemultimedia Forum 2025 noted the high level of organization of the event, whose role in the industry is growing every year. The Forum was attended by about 200 people, including top officials of the media industry.
Tricolor, the largest Russian digital television operator, became the general partner of the Forum. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, as well as industry partners.
