Russians were told about the ways phone scammers put pressure on the victim

Phone scammers give the victim 40 minutes to apply for a bank loan. This was reported to RIA Novosti on June 6 by law enforcement agencies, referring to the materials received after the arrest of the scammers.
It clarifies that the attackers explain to the person that they will not be able to stay in touch when the victim goes to the bank, and set a timer for 40 minutes. If the victim does not have time to call, the fraudster is allegedly obliged to contact her himself according to the instructions.
"In addition, they force the victim, when answering a call at the bank, to talk to the fraudster on your behalf," the publication says, noting that this is done to create a sense of trust and control over the situation.
According to the agency, a new service, Vital situation, was launched on the Gosuslugi portal to protect citizens. It will help both those who have already encountered scams and those who want to improve their digital literacy. The service offers security measures such as self-locking on loans, checking credit history and information about suspicious calls.
Instructions on how to act in case of interaction with scammers and a catalog of common deception schemes are also available. Users can find information about where to contact in case of cybercrimes, including the nearest branches of the MFC.
On June 4, the Moscow prosecutor's office reported that phone scammers themselves provoke citizens to contact them by sending their phone in private messages. To avoid falling for the trick of this scheme, never call back to such numbers. If you receive a suspicious call, you should check the information received and consult with someone.
