- Ispace reported on the unsuccessful landing of the Japanese Hakuto-R module on the Moon

The landing of the Japanese Hakuto-R module on the lunar surface was unsuccessful. This was announced on June 6 by the head of the Ispace development company Takeshi Hakamada.
It is noted that during the planned landing on the Earth's satellite, the altitude of the Hakuto-R flight dropped sharply to zero, which means a possible fall of the module.
"We came to the conclusion that it is difficult to establish communication with the module and it is impossible to complete the mission. Therefore, we can say that the landing was unsuccessful," Khakamada said during the conference, which was broadcast on the company's YouTube channel.
Ispace management is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. At the same time, engineers continue to work on establishing communication with the module.
In 2023, Ispace, the company that created the Hakuto-R module for its delivery, reported that the lander probably crashed during landing on the moon. When the module was at an altitude of 10 m above the lunar surface and was preparing to land, communication with it was suddenly cut off. Then the specialists could not resume it.
