The European Union has stopped duty-free import of goods from Ukraine

The European Union (EU) has terminated the duty-free import of goods into the territory of the union from Ukraine. This was reported on June 5 in the official journal of the EU.
"After June 5, 2025, the usual rules of the Association Agreement will start operating again," the document says.
So, quotas have been in effect since Friday, which still allow for the continuation of duty-free imports or the import of goods at preferential tariffs in limited quantities. At the end of the validity period of these quotas, the European Union will begin to apply standard duties to products from Ukraine.
Dmitry Natalukha, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Affairs, said on May 23 that the EU's decision to abolish duty-free trade with Ukraine would destroy the economy and undermine Kiev's ability to wage hostilities. According to him, the cancellation will also lead to a 70% reduction in Ukraine's production.
