The former chief adviser to US President Donald Trump questioned the legality of businessman Elon Musk's stay in the country and suggested deporting him. This was reported on June 5 by The New York Times (NYT).

"They [Trump's office. — Ed. We should officially check his immigration status, because I firmly believe that he is an illegal immigrant and should be deported from the country immediately," he said in an interview.

Bannon, who, as noted, now continues to be an influential ally of Trump, also recommended studying two incidents in which the entrepreneur was involved: investigating Musk's drug use and his attempts to obtain classified information on China from the Pentagon. The adviser also recommended that Trump terminate all technology contracts with Musk.

Elon Musk was born in 1971 in the capital of South Africa, Pretoria. In 1989, he moved to Canada, and later to the United States, where he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997.

On June 3, an American entrepreneur criticized Trump's budget project, calling it an "abomination." In response, the American leader called Musk "crazy" on June 5. On the same day, the businessman supported the idea of impeaching Trump in favor of US Vice President Jay Dee Vance.
