The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan has responded to reports that unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are allegedly observed in the sky over the country. The ministry said in a statement on June 5 that the country's airspace had not been violated.

Residents were asked to remain calm and not replicate incorrect data.

"Due to the spreading information about the appearance of unidentified objects in the sky, we inform you that no facts of violation of airspace in Kazakhstan have been recorded. The situation is under the control of the relevant services," the department's Telegram channel said.

The ministry noted that the phenomenon in question could have been caused either by the remnants of spacecraft debris entering the atmosphere, or by a meteor shower. It does not pose a threat to the population.

"As a rule, they all burn up in dense layers of the atmosphere, not reaching the earth's surface. The competent authorities are studying this phenomenon and will provide explanations," the Defense Ministry said.

On February 18, it was reported that the Turkish Gaziantep Airport suspended flights due to UFOs. It was noted that at about 22:00 local time, the pilots saw an unidentified object glowing and transmitted the situation to the control tower. The landing and take-off of planes at the airport were stopped. It was clarified that the UFO could be an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
