In Turkey, a fire in a multi-storey apartment building in the south-east of the country killed at least three people, including two children, and 17 more people were taken to hospitals. The online publication Ankara Nethaber writes about this on June 5.

"17 people were taken to hospital after suffering from smoke from a fire that broke out in a 13-storey building. <...> Three people were killed," the report says.

After receiving information about the fire, numerous fire brigades, ambulances and police were immediately dispatched to the house. Some of the people who were in the smoke-filled building were quickly evacuated. The rest were rescued using a crane cradle.

There are also children among the 17 injured who were taken to hospitals. According to media reports, the fire is now "under control." The area around the house has been cordoned off to investigate the causes of the incident.

On June 4, the newspaper La Repubblica reported that a large fire broke out in the Italian city of Viterbo at the campus of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Tuscia. The fire started on the roof of the building where welding work was carried out, and quickly spread to the laboratory located below, where 500 liters of ethanol and nitrogen cylinders were stored. University staff and students, as well as residents of houses and visitors to the courthouse located within 500 m of the fire, were evacuated from the university.
