The girl, who disappeared nine years ago, was found in the town of Sestroretsk in the kurortny district of St. Petersburg. This was announced on June 5 by the main investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

It is specified that the girl, born in 2000, disappeared in December 2016. Her mother contacted the police after she left the children's hospital, where she was taken for surgery.

"Before the disappearance, the girl deleted her page on the social network, left all her belongings and documents at the hospital, took a jacket from a neighbor in the ward, and left the hospital. Due to the fact that her whereabouts were not established, she was put on the wanted list," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the missing woman was found on June 2, having established her location. According to the girl, she really left the hospital herself because of disagreements in the family, as well as because she did not want to have surgery. Until she reached adulthood, the missing woman secretly lived with a friend.

Earlier, due to the possible commission of a crime against a minor, a criminal case was opened. Later, during the investigation, it was found that the girl was offended by relatives who did not congratulate her on her birthday.

On March 7, it was reported that law enforcement agencies had detained a man who had gone missing in St. Petersburg 18 years ago. It is specified that in September 2007, a 14-year-old teenager Dmitry Egorov went for a walk and did not return home, as he did not want to live with his parents because of strained relationships.
