More than 130 residents of the Pskov region suffered due to fraud

In May 2025, 135 residents of the Pskov region suffered as a result of fraud. The damage exceeded 50 million rubles.

Crimes are registered in almost all municipalities. The scammers used various deception schemes. When communicating with the victims, they introduced themselves as employees of banks and law enforcement agencies, convincing them of unauthorized loan processing and a threat to savings. In some cases, fraudsters informed Pskov residents that they allegedly needed to extend the contract for the provision of cellular services. The victims agreed to dictate the codes from SMS messages, after which the scammers gained access to the accounts.

Criminal cases have been initiated on all the facts.

In Moscow, an elderly couple gave 15.6 million rubles to fraudsters in a month. The scammers convinced a 68-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman that their savings were at risk. The victims handed over the money to couriers.
