The media noted the loss of the meaning of the EU's existence due to the arms race

The European Union (EU) has lost the meaning of its own existence by launching a new arms race in Europe. The Italian online publication L'antidipomatico writes about this on June 5.

"The arms race is not a sign of strength, but a manifestation of the weakness of the political project [of the EU], which has lost the meaning of its existence," the article says.

As the newspaper notes, the European rearmament project, conceived in order to allegedly "contain" Russia, marks the decline of the "culture of law" in favor of a "culture of domination." Thus, the EU abandons its original mission in order to conform to the logic of force, which "empties its legal and constitutional nature" and deprives it of "all philosophical depth."

"In the absence of these philosophical and legal efforts, Europe is doomed to become what it has sworn never to be again: a continent armed against itself," concludes the author of the article.
