- Medvedev supported the Latvian MP who advocated for the protection of the Russian language

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev supported the leader of the Stability! party Alexei Roslikov, who was suspended from the session of the Seimas (parliament) for speaking in Russian.
"On the eve of Alexander Pushkin's birthday, decent people intelligibly explained everything to the terry Russophobes in their native Russian!" he wrote on June 5 on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Medvedev emphasized the symbolism of Roslikov's speech, which took place on the eve of the poet Alexander Pushkin's birthday. According to him, it was an act of resistance to Latvia's anti-Russian policy.
On June 5, Latvian state television station LSM reported that the Latvian Seimas had removed Alexey Roslikov, leader of the Stability! party, from the meeting for defending the Russian language. During the parliamentary consideration of the declaration "on eliminating the linguistic consequences of Russification," he opposed the project, stressing that a significant part of the population are Russians who speak their native language at home, while they are actively involved in the development of Latvia.
