China's position on the Ukrainian issue does not yet require meetings with US President Donald Trump and representatives of the Kiev regime, political analyst Alexander Asafov said. He assessed the likelihood of China's participation in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict.

"China's position on this issue is quite clearly formulated and expressed. China supports Russia, as do a number of BRICS partners, for example, and I think it sees such participation as necessary and sufficient," the political scientist said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Earlier, on June 3, the Politico newspaper reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping did not want a personal meeting with Trump because of incidents similar to those that occurred during meetings with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the White House, RT reports.

In addition, the newspaper's sources said that Trump is confident in resolving trade issues between China and the United States through a conversation, according to the website. kp.ru . At the same time, Beijing is reluctant to engage in dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, as they consider the American leader unpredictable and fear that possible incidents during the meeting could affect Xi Jinping's image.

On May 30, the American leader announced that he was confident of holding a conversation with Xi Jinping in the near future. According to him, China violated a significant part of the trade agreement concluded with the United States on the reduction of mutual duties.
