Ukrainian boxer Lomachenko announced his retirement in Russian

Vasyl Lomachenko, a former Ukrainian boxing world champion in various categories, announced his retirement at the age of 37. Russian Facebook said this in a video message posted on his Facebook page on June 5 (it belongs to the extremist Meta company recognized in Russia, and its activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).
"There comes a moment in every boxer's life when he hangs up his gloves. This day has come in our history," he said.
The boxer also thanked for all the victories and failures both in the ring and in life. In a video message, he called for "dearly loving boxing" and treating this sport with respect, as those who enter the ring risk their health for the sake of their families.
Earlier, on April 19, it was reported that Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev defeated German athlete Artur Mann in the IBA Night of Champions tournament. This fight was the last in his sports career.
