The Supreme Court of Crimea has sentenced a resident of Yalta in a high treason case for providing financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). As the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol reported on June 5, the woman will spend 17 years in a penal colony.
"It has been established that a citizen born in 1990 transferred funds from her bank account in the form of a donation for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," they said.
A criminal case was being investigated under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason in the form of providing financial, logistical, advisory or other assistance to a foreign state, international or foreign organization or their representatives in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation").
The defendant was found guilty. She will have to serve her sentence in a general regime colony, with subsequent restriction of freedom for one year and six months.
On June 4, the Crimean prosecutor's office announced that the court had found a resident of the peninsula guilty of treason and sentenced him to 20 years in prison, as well as a fine of 50,000 rubles. According to the investigation, the man began contacting representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in 2022.
