The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to rename more than 180 settlements whose names "do not meet the standards of the state language." This was announced on June 5 by MP Roman Lozinsky on the Telegram channel.
According to him, the document on "de-russification" was supported by 257 parliamentarians out of 315.
"In total, 184 changes have taken place on the map of Ukraine today," the MP wrote.
As reported by "Gazeta.Ru", in total, settlements in 14 Ukrainian regions were renamed. Among them are Odessa, Khmelnitsky, Poltava, Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Transcarpathian, Kirovograd, Sumy, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Lviv and Ternopil regions.
