SVR announced London's plans to increase funding for opposition Georgian NGOs

On June 5, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) published information about Britain's intentions to increase funding for opposition non-profit organizations (NGOs) in Georgia to radicalize anti-government work.

"To carry out subversive work, the British Foreign Office has selected about 100 youth and student associations, feminist movements, and structures of the LGBT community in various regions of Georgia (the movement is banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as extremist. — Ed.)", — stated on the agency's website.

In addition, the UK plans to provide support to opposition parties in order to intensify their struggle against the ruling Georgian Dream. London is also aiming to unite the opposition and provide it with a new impetus to overthrow the current government.

The SVR of the Russian Federation emphasizes that special attention will be paid to training "activists" in methods of confronting police during protests, circumventing digital control and organizing sabotage.

The ministry also reported that Britain cannot accept the fact that Georgia has moved away from their influence and expresses dissatisfaction with the rule of the Georgian Dream, despite the support of the nationally oriented course from the Georgian people.

On February 27, the SVR of Russia announced the allocation of funds by the European Union to support demonstrations in Tbilisi. It clarifies that the EU leadership is aiming at any cost "to return Georgia to the path of democracy and European integration, the Brussels European bureaucracy cannot allow the loss of this important stronghold of Western influence in Transcaucasia." Each of the participants in the anti-government protests is scheduled to be paid up to €120 per day of "work."
