The study of the introduction of a year-round ban on mining cryptocurrencies in the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Republic of Buryatia has been postponed for two months. This was announced on June 5 by the press service of the Russian government.

"It was decided to postpone for two months the consideration of the issue of introducing a year—round ban on mining cryptocurrencies in the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Republic of Buryatia, taking into account the need to assess the loss of income in the electric grid complex," follows from a publication in the Telegram channel.

In addition, the preparation of a regulatory framework for the redistribution of released capacity from mining farms in energy-deficient regions of the country has been postponed.

Earlier, on May 29, Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev announced at a government meeting that a year-round mining ban would be introduced in Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory. This decision was planned to be made in the energy-deficient areas of southeastern Siberia. According to Tsivilev, a similar measure is already in effect in the Irkutsk region.
