A criminal case on incitement to hatred was opened against blogger Shchepikhin.


A criminal case has been opened against blogger Areg Shchepikhin for inciting hatred after a video posted on social media. This was announced on June 5 by a source of Izvestia.
"A criminal case was opened against Shchepikhin under the article "Incitement of hatred or enmity, as well as humiliation of human dignity" (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. — Ed.)," the source clarified.
It is noted that the man is currently being interrogated by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation. A pre-trial trial is also planned for the defendant.
The incident with Shchepikhin at Yaroslavsky railway Station became known on June 4. Six participants of the events were detained. They may be prosecuted under Articles 126 of the Criminal Code ("Kidnapping") and Article 285 of the Criminal Code ("Abuse of official authority").
