Eduard Volkov, one of the largest researchers of thermal power engineering, has died.

On Thursday, June 5, Eduard Volkov, one of the largest researchers in the field of thermal power engineering, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), died.

"Unfortunately, Eduard Petrovich Volkov passed away. This is a serious loss for Russian and world science," a representative of the Academy of Sciences told TASS.

In his work, Volkov investigated the pyrolysis processes of bituminous shales, with his participation, the world's first energy technology plant for pyrolysis of shale was put into operation, and new environmentally friendly technologies for catalytic combustion of fuels were created. Gorenje

The academician was able to analyze samples of the world's largest oil shale deposits, his developments formed the basis for the creation of enterprises that play a major role for the country. In 2008, the researcher became a laureate of the Global Energy International Energy Award.
