Matvienko proposed to extend zemstvo programs to sports and mail

Zemstvo personnel programs should be extended to sports, mail and other areas in villages where there is a shortage of personnel. This was announced on June 5 by the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko.
"Perhaps it would be right to extend these tools even more widely — to sports, mail, and other areas of rural life where there is a shortage of personnel," she said during the plenary session of the Forum of Rural Workers.
According to her, the issue of staffing needs to be given special attention, as there is currently a high need for agricultural staff, doctors, teachers and trainers. The activities of the federal project "Personnel in Agriculture" and zemstvo programs are aimed at solving this problem.
In accordance with the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Zemsky Doctor, Zemsky Paramedic, and Zemsky Teacher programs have been extended until 2030. Matvienko said that this year they also launched the Zemsky Kultury Worker project, which has already achieved results.
She also noted the importance of rural mortgage availability. Matvienko believes that it is necessary to create certain conditions so that young families do not move and stay in villages.
Earlier, on May 12, Sergei Gavrilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations (KPRF faction), said that young employees whose activities are related to rural areas can receive land from the state for free.
