Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed to reopen a criminal case in connection with an accident in St. Petersburg involving a Rolls-Royce and a motorcycle. This was reported on June 5 in the department.

It is clarified that a criminal case was previously opened under the article on attempted murder against the driver of a foreign car, Sergei Sosorev, who, violating traffic rules, ran over a motorcyclist. However, this decision was overturned by the prosecutor of the Krasnoselsky district of the city.

"The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, A.I. Bastrykin, instructed O.V. Bobkov, acting head of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg, to reopen the criminal case and submit a report," the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said.

On June 4, Sosorev was charged under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles") and Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Intentional infliction of serious harm to health").

The accident occurred on June 1 at the intersection of Peterhof Highway and Admiral Tributs Street in St. Petersburg. The next day, on June 2, the injured motorcyclist told Izvestia that he was preparing for surgery. At that time, the identity of the alleged Rolls-Royce driver was already established — he turned out to be Sergey Sosorev, 37-year-old chairman of the board of TSN Vsevolozhsky 29.

According to an eyewitness, the driver and passenger of the foreign car approached the victim after the collision, but did not provide assistance, but began to hide their tracks. As the 78 TV channel reported on June 3, the Rolls-Royce driver's family has been regularly brought to administrative responsibility over the past year.
