The fourth organ transplant center opened in Moscow

A department of organ and tissue transplantation has opened in GKB No. 52, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

The department specializes in providing surgical care to patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease. Here, according to Sobyanin, the initial diagnosis, the transplant itself, and subsequent follow-up are carried out.

The building in which the department is located is equipped with a modern operating unit. There are also two intensive care and intensive care units.

The department opened in GKB No. 52 and became the fourth organ transplantation center in the city.

In April of this year, Sobyanin said that in five years the number of organ transplant operations in Moscow hospitals had increased by 73%: from 427 cases to 739 per year.
