In Transbaikalia, a worker was killed during shunting work on the railway

During shunting operations by a diesel locomotive in the Trans-Baikal Territory, a train collided with a dead-end carriage prism, which caused two carriages to derail, resulting in the death of one person. This was reported on June 5 in the press service of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"As a result of the incident, an employee of a transport organization was injured, he died from his injuries in a medical facility," the press service said in a Telegram channel.

It is specified that the specialists of the investigative department for transport organized a set of verification measures to establish the causes of the incident. In addition, a pre-investigation check has begun on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violations of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport, resulting in the death of a person").

On May 22, Russian Railways reported that seven freight wagons had derailed at the Neftyanaya station in the Saratov Region on May 21. It was clarified that there were no casualties as a result of the incident, and the movement of passenger trains was not affected by the incident.
