An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 was recorded in Kamchatka

An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 occurred in the waters of the Kamchatka Strait. On May 5, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region reported, citing data from the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is specified that the epicenter of the seismic event was located at a distance of 86 km south-east of the village of Krutoberegova at a depth of 61 km.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that residents of the settlements did not feel the tremor, the threat of a tsunami was not announced.

On June 4, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tyva reported that an earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred in the region. It was clarified that there were no vibrations from the impact on the ground, and the operation of life support facilities for the population was not disrupted.
