- The lawyer spoke about the consequences of growing psychedelic mushrooms in the country

For growing certain types of mushrooms in the country, you can get a fine or criminal liability. Lawyer Alla Georgieva told the Prime agency about this on June 5.
She explained that in this case we are talking about mushrooms containing the psychoactive substances psilocybin and psilocin. According to the expert, if you grow panzolus and conocybe on the site, you can get either administrative (a fine of 3 to 5 thousand rubles or arrest for up to 15 days) or criminal liability, depending on the number of mushrooms.
Growing from 20 fruit bodies will be considered large-scale cultivation, responsibility for this comes under Part 1 of Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to her, a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles can be imposed, or compulsory work of up to 480 hours, or restriction or imprisonment of up to two years, the lawyer specified.
Georgieva added that if the number of fruit bodies exceeds 200, it is considered cultivation on a particularly large scale, therefore the punishment will be stricter — imprisonment for up to eight years with or without restriction of liberty for up to two years.
Lawyer Alexander Khaminsky warned on May 19 that for collecting red book green cheese, you can get up to four years in prison. If one or two accidentally caught green cheese or other red book mushrooms are found in the mushroom picker's basket, this will result in a fine of up to 5 thousand rubles. And if a person intentionally collected such mushrooms, then this action provides for a fine of up to 1 million rubles or imprisonment for up to four years.
