Wilfand predicted an abnormally hot year on Earth in the next five years

One of the next five years may become abnormally warm on Earth, breaking the record of 2024. This was announced on June 4 during a press conference by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
"With an 80% probability, it is expected that at least one of the next five years will be the warmest and will surpass the temperature of 2024, which has been a record so far," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
According to the forecaster, with a probability of 70%, the average temperature increase on the planet in the period from 2025 to 2029 will be more than 1.5 degrees. This indicator can lead to critical changes in the Earth's climate system.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported on March 18 that record levels of high temperatures in 2024 accelerated the melting of glaciers and sea ice, leading to rising sea levels and bringing the world closer to a key warming threshold.
