US President Donald Trump will change the heads of the Central and African Commands of the US Armed Forces (AF). This was reported on the Pentagon's website on June 4.

Vice Admiral Charles Cooper II of the United States Navy has become a candidate for the post of head of the Central Command of the United States Armed Forces (CENTCOM) with the rank of admiral. Lieutenant General of the US Air Force Dagwin Anderson has been promoted to the post of head of the African Command of the US Armed Forces (AFRICOM) with a promotion to the rank of general.

Their candidacies must be approved by the Senate of the American Congress.

On May 14, NBC News reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is going to reduce the composition and make radical changes to the work of the country's National Security Council (NSC). At the time of Trump's inauguration, the National Security Service had 300 employees, and in January they were cut in half. Now, it is tentatively planned to leave about 50-60 people, the publication added.
