The decline of the US military industrial base entails a possible decrease in the rapid development of new technologies, in particular, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was announced on June 4 by US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll.

This is how he responded to a request to explain why the United States is not capable of mass-producing UAVs.

"As a military industrial base, we have fallen into disrepair. We have lost the ability to quickly acquire new technologies and scale their production for the American troops," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Among other reasons hindering the production of drones, Driscoll noted the problems with technology, training and financing faced by the US army.

Driscoll announced on May 7 that the United States was considering reviewing spending on military equipment, including due to Russian drones. As the minister noted, an UAV for $ 800 is capable of disabling equipment worth several million dollars, which, in his opinion, forces the country to rethink spending on military equipment.
