This year, about 40 thousand ninth graders decided to go to college, while 13 thousand of them are those who study at 4 and 5. Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, said this in an interview with Izvestia.

"And they definitely could not have any problems with passing additional exams, but they consciously chose secondary vocational education," she said.

According to her, the city has been engaged in the development of vocational education for several years, because there is a request from employers, children and parents.

"More and more children want to get a real profession, earn money, stand on their own," Anastasia Rakova said.

This year, three regions — Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Lipetsk Region — are participating in an experiment to expand access to PDF. In particular, ninth graders in these regions can take only two subjects in the OGE (Russian and mathematics), instead of four.
