The NYT reported on Trump's hostility towards Zelensky

US President Donald Trump harbors particular hostility towards Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, whom he considers a "bad guy." This was reported by The New York Times on June 4, citing advisers to the head of the White House.
"He (the American president) is particularly hostile. — Ed.) has feelings for the leader of Ukraine. Trump has repeatedly told [his] aides that Zelensky is a "bad guy" who is pushing the world towards the abyss of nuclear war," the publication notes.
As noted in the newspaper, at the same time, Trump tends to be more respectful towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, with whom he has repeatedly assessed relations as "very, very good."
On May 17, Trump called Zelensky "the best huckster in the world." He noted that every time the President of Ukraine comes to Washington, he returns to Kiev with large sums of money. It is not known what exactly the sums are used for, as Trump noted.
