On June 5, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of the Russian military in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

Thus, the ministry noted the actions of Guard Sergeant Vadim Garipov, who performed the task of covering the assault units of the regiment from the air attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near one of the liberated settlements. During combat duty, while at an air surveillance post, he came under heavy artillery fire from the enemy, as a result of which he received shrapnel wounds.

Using the skills of tactical medicine, Garipov provided himself with the necessary assistance, remained at his post and continued to carry out the combat mission. Risking his own life, he securely sealed off the airspace from enemy means of attack and personally destroyed eight enemy FPV drones. Thanks to his courageous and professional actions, it was possible to prevent losses among the personnel and equipment of the unit.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation drew attention to the actions of the guard of Private Konstantin Perevalov, who was tasked with maintaining a stable connection between the command of the division and the advanced positions of Russian gunners. During the destruction of the long-term fortifications of the AFU militants, the battery control center was shelled by the enemy, as a result of which radio communication was lost. After that, Perevalov immediately moved to the roof of the building to fix the malfunction.

While setting up the equipment, he discovered an enemy reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the sky, correcting the artillery fire of the Ukrainian militants. Having quickly got his bearings in the situation, he destroyed the FPV drone using his personal weapon. Thanks to his decisive and professional actions, communication between the command post and the artillery batteries was restored, which allowed the artillery to effectively hit enemy targets, providing support to the advancing units.
