Shoigu and Kim Jong-un discussed measures to restore the Kursk region in Pyongyang

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu held talks in Pyongyang with the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un, during which the parties discussed plans for the restoration of the Kursk region. This was announced on June 4 by the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
"Shoigu and Kim Jong-un discussed the prospects for the restoration of the Kursk region," the SB website says.
During the meeting, steps were also discussed to perpetuate the memory of the Korean fighters who took part in the liberation of this territory of the Russian Federation from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"In the context of the significant contribution of the Korean People's Army soldiers to the liberation of the Kursk region from the Ukrainian occupation, concrete steps were considered to perpetuate the memory of the heroic deed of the Korean soldiers," the message says.
The parties paid special attention to the discussion of issues contained in the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin, sent earlier to the head of the DPRK.
Shoigu flew to Pyongyang earlier in the day on behalf of the Russian president to meet with the head of the DPRK. Later, the press service of the Russian Embassy in the DPRK reported that the head of the Russian Security Council held a meeting with Kim Jong-un, during which they discussed the development of cooperation, the conflict in Ukraine and the situation on the Korean peninsula.
On April 30, the head of the KDNR military delegation, Lieutenant General Pak Yong Il, called the liberation of the Kursk region from the Ukrainian Armed Forces a victory over pure evil. He stressed that this event is a new stage in history, demonstrating the strong cooperation between the DPRK and Russia.
