Trump asked the Senate not to consider tougher sanctions against Russia

US President Donald Trump has called on his party members in the Senate not to put to a vote a bill suggesting tougher sanctions against Russia. This was announced on June 4 by Roger Wicker, Chairman of the Committee on Armed Forces Affairs of the upper house of Congress.
"I know that he requested that the leader [of the Republican majority in the upper house of Congress, John] Tune did not submit the bill [for consideration] this week," said Wicker, quoted by TASS.
On May 19, Bloomberg reported that Trump may support a bill on sanctions against Russia, which was previously proposed by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed in Russia as a terrorist and extremist).
According to the newspaper, among the proposed sanctions, duties of 500% may be imposed on imports from countries that continue to purchase gas, oil and uranium from Russia.
