A costumed sap regatta starts in Serebryany Bor on June 7. About 1 thousand people will take part in it. They will dress up as mermaids, Winnie the Pooh, astronauts, and witches, the organizers said.

Participants will decorate their sapboards according to their chosen images, turning the boards into real art objects.

Everyone who has a sapboard, a life jacket and a medical certificate from a therapist is invited to participate. Participation is free, upon prior registration.

The total length of the sap regatta route is about 5 km. The start is at beach No. 3. Participants will swim past beaches No. 4 and No. 5, enter Lake Bezdonnoye, swim across the island of Serebryany Bor and return back.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the best men's, women's, children's, and team costumes. The author of the most original pet outfit will also be noted. The total prize fund is 1 million rubles.

The costumed sap regatta will be held as part of the Moscow – on the Wave festival. Fish Week", which is part of the "Summer in Moscow" project.

Last year, more than 600 people took part in the same sap regatta. The first place in the costume contest was then taken by Mikhail Ryutov in the image of a fisherman from Pushkin's fairy tale about a goldfish. The second place went to the participants in the costumes of a lifeguard and a traffic police inspector, and the third place went to the participant disguised as a crocodile. A special prize was awarded to the creators of the original swimming facility in the form of a huge pizza.
