Pope Leo XIV, during a conversation with Putin, spoke in favor of dialogue with the Russian Orthodox Church

During a telephone conversation with Pope Leo XIV, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the request of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, conveyed his wishes for success in his pastoral ministry, the Kremlin's press service reported on June 4.

"The Pontiff spoke in favor of continuing the important dialogue between the two sister churches," the Kremlin said.
