Most couples regularly encounter situations where a seemingly harmless phrase from a partner causes irritation or even serious conflict. This is stated in a study by the Mamba dating service, which was reviewed by Izvestia on June 5.

According to the study, men are most often annoyed by the phrases "You should have guessed it yourself!" (39%), "Everything is clear..." (30%) and "I'll decide everything myself, don't specify" (26%). Traditionally, the mysterious "Everything is fine" turned out to be annoying — 34% are sure that dissatisfaction is hidden behind this word, but the partner simply does not want to speak directly.

Psychologists note that many couples fall into the trap of formulaic communication, when instead of a live dialogue, partners exchange hackneyed phrases. Experts consider the situation when one of the partners continues to use offensive language, despite requests not to do so, to be a particularly alarming signal.

In addition, dry, monosyllabic responses cause irritation in correspondence. A cold "Clear" almost equally infuriates both men and women (33% and 32%, respectively), and a short "Ok" in response to an emotional message seems to be outright disdain (25% and 29%). Even a harmless smiley face with a thumbs up instead of words can cause negativity — especially if a partner uses it too often, which annoys 21% of women and 17% of men. The feminine "I understand" arouses suspicion among 22% of respondents — they are sure that this word hides an unspoken dissatisfaction.

The study also revealed an interesting pattern: men in general are more optimistic about the possibility of changing the situation through a frank conversation, while women are more likely to doubt that their partner will be able to rebuild their communication style.

Analysts paid special attention to the problem of artificial communication in relationships. As it turned out, many users are seriously concerned that their partner may use ChatGPT for correspondence, seeing this as a threat to the sincerity of the relationship.

Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that modern Russians are increasingly using psychological compatibility as the main criterion for choosing a partner. Thus, 88% of women and 82% of men check the psychotype of a potential life partner before starting a serious relationship.
