- More than 200 buses will be updated in Transbaikalia according to the national project

More than 200 buses for municipal passenger transportation will be updated in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The fleet will receive new cars as part of the new national project "Infrastructure for Life," the press service of the regional government reported on social media on Wednesday, June 4.
"We started this work last year. 77 buses were purchased with funds from a special treasury loan, and they were transferred to the districts for municipal transportation," said Sergey Krivoshchekov, Deputy Minister of Construction of the region.
We are talking about GAZ and PAZ buses, writes ChitaMedia news agency. Of these, 46 are of the small class and 31 are of the medium class. The vehicles were sent to 26 districts of Transbaikalia, where they will serve 64 municipal routes.
According to Krivoshchekov, all possible options for updating the public transport fleet will be used: leasing, subsidizing from the federal budget.
According to the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin following the results of the State Council, up to 85% of public transport in each region of the country should be updated by 2030. Transbaikalia plans to completely eliminate this need in the next 2-3 years, the minister stressed.
Earlier in June, Izvestia wrote that the budgets of the Russian federation's constituent entities ended the first quarter of 2025 in positive territory. Revenues increased by 7.5%, which allowed for a national average surplus. More than half of the Russian regions demonstrated positive dynamics of key socio-economic indicators, and the growth in real incomes of the population turned out to be very significant.
