The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with a military assistance package worth €400 million to ensure maritime security. This was announced on June 4 by the country's Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans at a briefing on the eve of a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels.

"I am announcing a new support package [for Ukraine] in the amount of €400 million for maritime security. It will include more than 100 vessels, patrol boats, transport boats, intercontinental interceptors, a ship for special operations, thus, a wide range of more than 100 vessels," he said at a briefing broadcast on the NATO YouTube channel.

According to Brekelmans, the aid package will also include more than 50 naval drones, weapons systems and sensors.

"That is, a complete package to strengthen Ukraine's maritime security," concluded the head of the Ministry of Defense.

On March 6, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schof said that the government intends to allocate €3.5 billion to help Ukraine in 2026. At the same time, Schof noted that, if necessary, the funds can be used by Kiev this year.
