All the justifications of the Moldovan authorities after their recommendation for citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia are nonsense and a set of unsubstantiated accusations. This was announced on June 4 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

Zakharova noted that Moldova is now looking for far-fetched pretexts to dissuade its citizens from traveling to Russia.

"You know, this is, of course, in diplomatic terms, a set of unsubstantiated allegations that are not supported by facts, and to put it the way it is, it's bullshit," she said at a briefing.

In addition, according to her, Chisinau did not want to hold bilateral consultations with Moscow on cross-border movement.

The day before, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry recommended its citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia. The ministry clarified that the reason is the allegedly recorded cases of detention of foreign citizens.
