Sergunina summed up the results of the application campaign for the "Innovator of Moscow" contest

This year, over 5,000 people have registered to participate in the Moscow Innovator competition. This was announced by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

Experts will have to consider 1.6 thousand projects from teams and individual participants. The top 90 will be formed in early July. The authors of the best ideas will hold face-to-face presentations at the demo day. According to the results of the final defense, 36 winners and prize-winners of the program will be determined, who will receive from 100,000 to 1.5 million rubles, depending on the nomination. The total prize fund is 20.7 million rubles.

"Since its launch in 2020, the award has brought together more than 16,000 scientists and inventors. Prizes were awarded to 174 projects in the field of digital technologies, industry, transport, construction and other areas. The authors of 130 decisions received over 190 million rubles in subsidies and grants, and also took advantage of non—financial measures of city support," Sergunina said.

This time, students from Moscow State University, the Higher School of Economics, the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Moscow Aviation Institute and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics are leading in the number of applications among students.

The largest number of applications came in the categories of "Public projects" (about 39%), "Industry" (19.5%), "Medicine and Pharmacy" (18.3%), "Transport and Logistics" (almost 10%).

Among the applicants for this year's award are the authors of a business social network with information about investments, current vacancies and useful business tools. About 5 million people from different countries are registered in it.

Another product that experts will appreciate is an intelligent digital platform for the sports community. Users can compare their results with those of champions, receive training recommendations, and apply for competitions.

In addition, developers of a mobile device for assessing the chemical composition of water and soil, a compact plastic recycling complex, and a smart plant care system are competing for the award.
