The Kherson Regional Court sentenced 42-year-old Nadezhda Plekhova, assigning her 13 years of imprisonment in a penal colony in the case of espionage and high treason. This was announced on June 4 by the regional prosecutor's office.

It was established that Plekhova, who is a citizen of Ukraine, in the period from September to November 2022 in the Genichesky district of the Kherson region, collected and transmitted information about the deployment of Russian military equipment and personnel to the Ukrainian special services for a monetary reward. In the spring of 2023, having already acquired Russian citizenship, she continued her activities.

"This data could have been used to inflict fire damage on the locations of the Russian military and other persons," the prosecutor's office said on its website.

The court found Plekhova guilty under Article 276 of the Criminal Code ("Espionage"), Article 275 of the Criminal Code ("High treason"). She was sentenced to 13 years in a general regime penal colony, as well as a fine of 100,000 rubles and restriction of liberty for a period of one year.

On May 29, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a resident of Dzhankoy to 20 years in prison in a high treason case. It is specified that the person involved has established contact with a representative of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). On the instructions of the curators, he collected information about the location of the warehouses of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Rosgvardiya in Dzhankoy and Krasnoperekopsky district. The convict sent screenshots of geolocations with the allocation of sections of warehouse locations through messengers.
