High fire danger will remain in the Moscow region in the period from 5 to 7 June. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region on Wednesday, June 4.

"In the period from 5 to 7 June, a high fire hazard of the fourth class will remain in places in the Moscow region. Dry weather and wind create conditions for the rapid spread of fire," the Moscow City News agency quoted the message as saying.

The ministry called on residents of the region not to make bonfires in forests and open areas, as well as not to throw cigarette butts and matches.

Earlier that day, the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Moscow Region, Major General of the internal Service Alexei Pavlov, said that a powerful group of more than 14,000 people and 3,000 pieces of equipment had been formed to fight wildfires. She is ready to promptly respond to warnings and eliminate possible emergencies during the fire season, according to 360.ru .

In turn, Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Service's crisis Management department, warned that hot weather up to +34 degrees is expected in Moscow and the Moscow region next week.

On May 30, the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, said that the current fines for wildfires are insufficient, RT reports.
