In Viterbo, Italy, a large fire broke out on the campus of the University of Tuscia

In the Italian city of Viterbo, a large fire broke out on the campus of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Tuscia. This was reported on June 4 by the newspaper La Repubblica.
According to the newspaper, the fire started on the roof of the building where welding work was carried out, and quickly spread to the laboratory located below, where 500 liters of ethanol and nitrogen cylinders were stored. The flames caused a partial collapse of the roof of one of the pavilions. A column of thick black smoke is visible from all over the city, as well as from neighboring settlements.
"No injuries have been reported among those present at the faculty. A worker who was engaged in roof repairs, who was initially reported missing, has been found," the publication says.
For security reasons, university staff and students were evacuated, as well as residents of houses and visitors to the courthouse located within 500 m of the fire. Access to the area is restricted and access roads are blocked. The authorities urged residents not to open the windows.
Firefighters and a military unit continue to work at the site. The Viterbo Prosecutor's office is awaiting a preliminary report from the emergency services, after which it plans to open an official investigation into the incident.
