On June 4, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the command and personnel of the 283rd Motorized Rifle Regiment on the liberation of the Redkodub settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"In stubborn battles with neo-Nazis in the Rubtsovsk area, the soldiers of the regiment, showing examples of bravery and dedication, decisively smash the enemy, leaving no chance for the militants of the Kiev regime," Belousov said. According to him, many soldiers of the 283rd Motorized Rifle Regiment showed courage and heroism, and were awarded state and departmental awards.
