Chinese authorities plan to purchase up to 500 Airbus aircraft as part of a future deal with Europe. This was reported by Bloomberg on June 4, citing sources.

"China is considering the possibility of placing an order for hundreds of Airbus aircraft as early as next month, when European leaders visit Beijing," the material says.

The order may include about 300 aircraft, both narrow—body and wide-body models. At the same time, according to another source, the deal may include from 200 to 500 units of equipment. However, as Bloomberg notes, the negotiations are unstable and at risk of collapse.

In addition, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz may visit Beijing in July to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union (EU). It is specified that both France and Germany are the largest shareholders of Airbus.

On May 13, the Chinese government lifted the ban on the supply of aircraft to the American company Boeing, after China and the United States agreed to reduce mutual duties. It was clarified that airlines can arrange purchases according to their own schedule and on their own terms.
