Over the past day, 295 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 28 people were killed and 365 injured. 23 of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on June 4 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 63 accidents, 25 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 38 outside their area of operation, five pedestrians were killed, and 61 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 19 underage pedestrians, 11 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway in unintended places.

56 accidents involving minors were registered on Russian roads over the past day, as a result of which 62 young road users were injured, including 21 passengers, nine cyclists and six motor transport drivers. There are no dead children.

20 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, 40 more road users, including four children, needed medical help. Five bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

So, in the Murmansk region, on the 21st km of the regional highway "Entrance to the city of Severomorsk", a 55-year-old bus driver with 30 passengers in the cabin crashed into the concrete fence of the highway. As a result of the accident, one bus passenger was hospitalized with injuries, 11 more were injured and, after receiving medical care, were sent for outpatient treatment. Previously, the reason for hitting an obstacle was that the bus driver was distracted from driving due to a fallen tachograph cover located above his head in the cabin.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded bus drivers that the lives and health of their passengers depend entirely on their driving skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding driving behavior. They were encouraged to go on a work shift well rested and healthy, and before leaving for the route it is necessary to check the technical condition of vehicles.

While driving, you should take advantage of the lanes allocated for public transport, observe the permitted speed limit, and take into account the requirements of markings, road signs, and traffic lights.

"You should be extremely careful when approaching pedestrian crossings and crossing intersections, especially unregulated or with roundabouts. Never rush through them as quickly as possible, thereby interfering with other road users, including pedestrians. Be collected and careful: leave yourself plenty of time to react adequately to a possible change in the traffic situation at any moment. Take care of your passengers, preventing even the prerequisites for an accident," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.

On May 29, the Ministry of Transport published a draft amendment to the rules of the road explaining the duties of drivers when approaching vehicles with special signals turned on. In the same document, the Ministry proposed introducing the concept of a "child restraint system (device)" into the traffic regulations and defining what exactly applies to these systems.
