In the Netherlands, a young child fell into a coma after consuming Haribo marmalade, which was found to contain cannabis. This was reported on June 4 by the NL Times newspaper with reference to the Ziekenhuisgroep Twente (ZGT) medical center.

It is specified that in the Dutch city of Almelo, two children were hospitalized after eating sweets. One of them, who was in serious condition, was transferred to a specialized medical facility.

"Both children are doing well now," said a representative of the medical institution.

According to a hospital representative, the victims were a toddler and a preschool-age child. The medical institution refused to disclose additional details, citing the protection of the family's privacy.

The police are still investigating how the narcotic substance ended up in the candies.

The Independent newspaper reported on May 29 that cannabis was found in a batch of Happy Cola F!ZZ chewable candies from Haribo in the Netherlands. The drug was discovered after members of a family in the Netherlands felt dizzy after eating sweets and reported it to the police. The reason for the appearance of cannabis in sweets is unknown.

Haribo has recalled the entire shipment as a precautionary measure. The company urges customers not to return products to stores, but to send them directly to Haribo for a refund.
