Ex-Spartak coach Igor Grishin heads the Neftekhimik hockey club

Igor Grishin, a former coach of Spartak Moscow hockey Club (HC), became the head of Neftekhimik HC from Nizhnekamsk. This was announced on June 4 by the team's press service.

"Neftekhimik Hockey Club announces the appointment of a new head coach. Igor Vladimirovich Grishin becomes an experienced specialist with a vivid coaching biography and serious achievements," the club's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that in the 2024/25 season, he was the head coach of Dynamo from St. Petersburg and reached the semifinals of the Petrov Cup. Earlier in the 2022/23 season, HC Khimik from Voskresensk won the gold of the Higher Hockey League (VHL) and was recognized as the best coach of the league.

"Igor Vladimirovich knows how to play bright, attacking hockey for teams. His ability to work with young people is consistent with our philosophy," said Igor Larionov, General Director of HC Neftekhimik.

On June 3, it became known that Vyacheslav Kozlov became the new head coach of the Sochi hockey club. As an assistant coach, he was a member of the headquarters of Spartak, Avangard, Kunlun Red Star and Dynamo Moscow.
