The Investigative Committee began checking on flooding in the city of Tarko-Sale in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

Investigators of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Yamal organized a procedural check in connection with flooding of streets and damage to a hydraulic structure in the city of Tarko-Sale in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District). This was reported on June 4 in the press service of the department.

The Telegram channel of the department clarified that the Purovsky interdistrict Investigation Department immediately organized a procedural check on the grounds of a crime under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence).

According to preliminary data, on June 3, due to the flooding of the Pyaku-Pur River, suburban areas in the Tarko-Sale area were flooded, and part of the water protection infrastructure was damaged. It is specified that the investigators are examining the scene of the incidents, seizing documents from local authorities and interrogating officials and eyewitnesses.

The press service of the department concluded that during the inspection it is planned to establish the circumstances of the incident and give a legal assessment of the actions of those responsible for conducting pre-flood surveys of water bodies and timely informing the public about the risk of flooding.

Long flood: the active flood phase began in 11 regions

So far, some rivers are flooded, while others have critically low water levels.

On June 3, it was reported that the largest flood in 25 years was recorded in the city of Tarko-Sale in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District). The removal of the population from the flood zones is carried out using all-terrain vehicles. A temporary accommodation facility for evacuees is being prepared at the Avangard Sports School.
