German Chancellor Friedrich Merz does not intend to enter into disputes with US President Donald Trump at a personal meeting, unlike Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. This was reported by Bloomberg on June 4.

"The chancellor, who can be short—tempered and belligerent, has made it clear internally that he will not openly confront the US president, as Zelensky did," the article says.

It is specified that the meeting between Merz and Trump is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 5, in Washington. According to the agency, before the meeting, Merz was advised not to interrupt Trump and let him talk most of the time.

In addition, if something goes wrong, the German Chancellor should be ready to "soften" this dialogue.

The day before, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho told Izvestia that the visit of the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andrei Ermak, indicates the unwillingness of the White House to see Zelensky.

On February 28, during Zelensky's visit to the White House, a verbal altercation took place between Trump and the Ukrainian leader. The American president accused Zelensky of disrespecting the United States. The Ukrainian leader was also criticized by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance. After the incident, Zelensky left the White House earlier than scheduled.
